Sawley Parish Council put down new roots in The Tree Council’s National Tree Week

Sawley's Christmas lights switch-on is tonight!
The event will start at 6.30pm with members of the public able to join us for complimentary mulled wine (non-alcoholic), mince pies, games and plenty of community spirit at the Sawley Methodist Church.
Our main light switch on event this year will take place on at Lakeside Park (opposite the Sawley Methodist Church) on Tamworth Road - this is a new location for us this year.

Get switched on for festive fun with our Christmas lights celebration
The festive period kicks off in Sawley on 24 November at Lakeside Park (opposite the Sawley Methodist Church) on Tamworth Road.

Sawley Remembrance Day Parade and Service
The Remembrance Day Service and Parade will be held on Sunday 12 November 2017.
A church service will take place at All Saints' Church, Sawley at 10.00am followed by a parade to the War Memorial, which will be led by the Processional Cross bearer followed by the clergy, choir and congregation of All Saint's Church.

Sweet smell of success for Sawley’s final flower festival
Organisers of this year's 50th and final Sawley Flower Festival are hailing it as a another huge success, and want to thank people from near and fair who visited the village as part of the celebrations.

Lakeside car park reopens
Sawley Parish Councillors are pleased with our refurbished car park at Lakeside Park, which has now been open for just over a week.
The recent works included the installing of drainage, kerb edgings and a permanent tarmacked surface with white lining for 20 parking bays (two of which are disabled parking only).

Sunflowers and sunshine for this year’s Sawley Garden Trail
This year's Garden Trail enjoyed superb weather and a record attendance with 14 gardens opened for the public to enjoy, together with plant sales, crafts and refreshments.
The Prize Draw in aid of Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance raised £771 with over 25 prizes donated by local businesses in Sawley.
