Bill Camm, Memorial Bench and Planter

Installation of 'Living Memorial' to Bill Camm finally agreed.

East Midlands Homes agree to Parish Council request to allow installation of bench and planter in memory of the late Bill Camm.

Patrick Walker, the surveyor for East Midlands Homes, met with Sawley Parish Councillors, Alan Chewings & Denise Bond and to agreed to the location of the 'living memorial' to Bill Camm - who served Sawley for nearly 50 years.

The bench & planter will be installed and planted up with summer flowers in the next few weeks at the junction of Kedleston Close ( where Bill lived) & Wilmot Street.

The Parish Council will be responsible for the maintenance & upkeep of the memorial.

Cllr Alan Chewings said: " after all these years, it's fitting that the Parish Council, is finally installing a living memorial to the great man - that Bill Camm was."

Cllr Denise Bond added m: "It's also fitting that it's being installed at the end of the road where Bill lived with his wife."
