New Councillors join the Parish Council

In the election on 2 May there were a number of new Councillors voted onto the Parish Council.

At the Annual Parish Council meeting on Tuesday 14 May, the Members of the new Council formally accepted office. At the meeting, the previous Chairman, Councillor John Sewell – who remains on the Council - thanked the retiring Councillors for their hard work over the past four years.

After taking office, the new Chairman, Councillor Alan Chewings assured the residents present at the meeting that the Parish Council would continue to work on behalf of the community to make Sawley a better place to live, work and visit.

All residents are welcome to attend the monthly Parish Council meetings. There is 15 minutes at the start of the meeting when any resident can raise issues or concerns with the Council. Dates for forthcoming meetings can be viewed here.
