Derbyshire library service consultation

Libraries for Derbyshire: Public Library Service Strategy Consultation

Derbyshire County Council has launched a 12 week public consultation for its proposed public library service strategy Libraries for Derbyshire. You can complete its consultation questionnaire at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/librariesforderbyshire

As part of the consultation DCC has also organised drop in sessions across all 45 libraries in Derbyshire for people to meet and to discuss our proposals in person. In addition, in the 20 communities proposed for community managed libraries DCC has arranged focus groups for anyone interested in getting involved to give their views, discuss any practicalities and challenges and decide if they want to take their interest further.

DCC is also holding a Mobile Library Service focus group to look at alternative methods of delivery for the Mobile Library Service. For example, community organisations running the mobile library service or possibly providing transport to the nearest static library for those that need it.

The Mobile Library Service focus group is on Wednesday 11th July 6-8pm at Members Room, County Hall Matlock.
